I learned on YouTube how lemon is cultivated
Village farmer Rammehar Singh told the media report that he grows lemon naturally. He has been growing lemon on five bighas of land for the last six years, because he loves farming and he always tries to do something new. Farmers come from far and wide to see organic farming of lemon. He claimed that he learned to grow lemon from YouTube. Lemons are sold in the market after they are fully ripe and some people also make lemon pickle. People come to the farm from Delhi and nearby areas to buy lemon pickle. Pickle is sold at Rs 250 per kg in the market, while lemon is sold at Rs 60 per kg. He told that less spices are added in pickle. It is sold at a reasonable price in the market.
Annual income of up to 12 lakhs
According to farmer Rammehar Singh, lemon tree bears fruits twice a year, which are sold at good prices in the market. The farmer told that no insect can harm the lemon tree. Wild animals also do not harm the lemon tree. After ripening on the lemon tree, it is cut and dried in the sun. When it is completely dry, it is mixed with mustard oil, salt, coriander, fennel and chilli and packed and kept for a month or more. Pickle is prepared by this process. He told that lemon cultivation brings an income of about 12 lakh rupees.
