He began a dairy farm four years ago and is now working from home, earning around Rs 1.25 lakh a month with the assistance of government subsidies. Anant Jain, 29, who lives in the hamlet of Chhoti Kasrawad, some 40 km away from the district seat, told Local 18 that he works as an engineer. He was paid Rs 75,000 a month to work for a private firm in Indore, but he lost his job during the COVID-19 pandemic and went back home.

This is how the concept of the milk industry was born.

Upon there, I saw that the market was completely closed and that the only things left were milk and medical services. In order to increase profits, people were adding water to milk. Anant became concerned about this and decided to purchase two or three buffaloes in order to provide the village’s residents with pure milk. He then began delivering the milk to homes door to door. Anant made the decision to pursue this career path.

Assistance from government programs

Anant said that he received five lakhs in sponsorship from NABARD. A grant of one and a half lakh rupees was obtained in this. used this money to launch the dairy farm company. expanded the animal population. Following loan repayment, he obtained a further loan under the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) plan, for which he was eligible for a 7 lakh subsidy, totaling 19 lakhs.

 Drinking seven hundred gallons of milk per day

The dairy farm home, situated on 1.5 bighas of land, now houses 45 various varieties of cows and 30 buffaloes. Every day, they get roughly 700 liters of milk. This milk is provided to certain firms and sold door to door. After subtracting expenditures, he makes around one lakh rupees a month from this. In addition, he employs seven others. The personnel have also been given housing facilities. People are now receiving employment from the individual who was fired.

The cultivation of napier grass on 40 bigha fields

In addition, Anant farms 35 to 40 bighas of Napier grass CO-11 in place of conventional crops including cotton, gram, and maize. Green grass is now available for 2 to 3 rupees per kilogram, when before he had to pay 9 to 10 rupees for dry grass. He now feeds this grass to his cows since it has a 22 percent nutritional content, which improves the quality of the milk and keeps the animals healthy. We sell the leftover grass to other individuals. From this, he also receives a monthly income of around 50,000 rupees.
