Success Story: Ruby Pareek, a native of Rajasthan’s Dausa area, has distinguished herself in the organic agricultural industry. She persevered through her challenging life’s challenges, and currently her yearly revenue has surpassed Rs 50 lakh. She is educating other farmers and promoting organic farming on her ten acres of property. Challenge and motivation

Ruby Pareek, a progressive woman farmer, had a challenging upbringing. All of her money was used to cure her father’s severe illness, which was cancer, and the land and other assets were also auctioned. Ruby was shaken by her father’s condition. Who knows how many others must be going through this kind of pain, she wondered. She made an effort to identify the underlying cause of this illness while keeping this pain in mind.

After doing a study, she discovered that the overuse of chemical pesticides and fertilizers in fields is poisoning the soil, leading to fatal illnesses including cancer. Ruby Pareek made the decision to switch to organic farming after coming to this conclusion. She made the decision to cultivate using only natural techniques and to avoid using any pesticides in her crops.

The first phase of organic farming

A group from Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dausa paid Ruby Pareek a visit to her farm in 2006 and provided her with extensive information on organic farming. This gave her the idea to embrace organic farming and spread awareness of it across the community.

She started a group named “Kisan Club Khatwa” with her husband Om Prakash Pareek’s assistance, and it works to properly develop and promote organic farming. Additionally, she informed other farmers about this technique and the damage that chemical farming does.

Environmental preservation and innovation

Ruby Pareek, a forward-thinking woman farmer, used all organic and natural agricultural practices on her property. She planted over 10,000 plants with an eye on environmental preservation, which improved the ecosystem in addition to adding more green space. She created the biggest vermicompost factory in Rajasthan in 2008, producing 200 metric tons with the assistance of NABARD.

Poor workers are being employed by this unit, and farmers are also receiving free vermicompost, earthworms, and Azolla fern. In addition, he encouraged farmers to make organic manure and began employing organic goods in his fields, such as Dashparni extract, Panchagavya, Ghanjeevamrit, and Jeevamrit.

Awards and Honors

Ruby Pareek’s efforts were recognized on a national scale for their diligence. Her “Kisan Club Khatwa” received the state-level honor in 2011–12. She then began to focus even more on creativity in her profession. In order to provide organic goods with a suitable market, “Khatwa Kisan Organic Producer Company Limited” was founded in 2015-16 with funding from NABARD.

Training and Community Development

Ruby Pareek was a forward-thinking woman farmer who worked hard to advance organic farming. She created organic nutrition gardens at several government schools via the CUTS group to provide wholesome meals for kids. In addition, she created a traditional organic seed bank in the neighborhood so that farmer women could grow nutrition gardens in their houses and get free seeds.

She has taught organic farming to around 24,000 female farmers and agricultural college students to date. Her program has helped thousands of farmers, who are now using organic farming to improve their standard of living.
