Success Story: Recently, Yuvraj Parihar was named the First Runner-up “Richest Farmer of India” at the Krishi Jagran-sponsored “Millionaire Farmer of India (MFOI)” Awards 2024. Along with M.C. Dominic, the founder and editor-in-chief of Krishi Jagran, Shiny Dominic, the managing director of Krishi Jagran, Ujjwal Mukherjee, the head of marketing services for Mahindra Farms Division, and other dignitaries on stage, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari presented the award.
Yuvraj Parihar’s transformative path and outstanding contribution to agriculture are reflected in this esteemed honor. “The founder and team of Krishi Jagran deserve a lot of congratulations for this event,” he stated in an exclusive interview with Krishi Jagran about this honor. Everyone benefits from the reward, which also raises spirits. At the same time, there are more duties. With this obligation in mind, I’ll put in more effort and raise awareness about agriculture.” Early years and entry into the agricultural field
His father was also a doctor; hence, Yuvraj Parihar was born into a medical family. As a result, his family did not place much emphasis on agriculture, although he was always interested in it. People who knew Yuvraj Parihar also encouraged him to work in the commercial sector or become a doctor, but he had other plans.
He thought there was a lot of room for success in the agricultural industry. Yuvraj found this choice difficult; nevertheless, his family had a professional history. However, Yuvraj followed his instincts and decided to pursue a career in agriculture. After graduating from college in 2002, Yuvraj entered the agricultural industry and has since chosen to pursue farming as his career path thanks to his diligence and intelligence.
In order to enable everyone to farm together in novel ways and share knowledge, he began farming himself and progressively enlisted over 2000 farmers. He continues, “We learn from each other and try to move forward by discussing whatever changes come in the industry.”
Utilizing modern technology and enhancing agricultural
Agriculture was Yuvraj Parihar’s passion, not merely his line of work. According to him, planning, carrying out, and keeping an eye on things are the three key components of every successful firm. In his farming, he skillfully used all three of these elements.
Yuvraj used to make sure that the right crop was cultivated in the right season during planning. He knew that farming needed the appropriate technology at the right time. Additionally, timely application of fertilizer, irrigation, and harvesting increased crop output. According to him, the quality and production of the crop can only be raised by taking the appropriate action at the appropriate moment with the proper monitoring.
In addition, he farmed with the proper quantity of nutrients. Since he was aware that every farm had unique requirements, he never adopted a herd mentality and instead applied fertilizer and water based on his crop’s demands. By using the appropriate techniques, he was able to lower expenses while simultaneously increasing output.
Lowering expenses and raising profits in agriculture
Yuvraj Parihar reduced agriculture expenditures in a number of ways. In order to determine which element was missing from the field, he first had the soil analyzed and then administered fertilizer appropriately. In addition, he concentrated on mechanization, which raised output capacity and decreased agricultural costs.
He is particularly interested in the cultivation of potatoes and thinks that Agra is a major potato center. There is no other place in the world that produces and stores as many potatoes as the Agra district. Approximately 8 crore potato sacks are kept in the 300 cold storage facilities located here. In addition, they produce other crops like millet, cauliflower, and moong after digging potatoes, which results in extremely excellent output in Agra and the neighboring regions.
According to Yuvraj Parihar, agriculture cannot be conducted only using conventional techniques. He realized that farming may increase both productivity and quality by using innovative methods and techniques. For this reason, he continues to refine his work and attempts every new experiment.
Brand and Business of “Dr. BPS”
Following his success in the agricultural industry, Yuvraj Parihar launched a brand named “Dr. BPS” to establish his own personality. This trademark has come to represent his agricultural endeavors. In order to preserve his harvests and get higher market prices, he has constructed two warehouses and three cold storage facilities. In addition, Yuvraj Parihar established seven colleges.
Business success and total turnover
The current agribusiness turnover of Yuvraj Parihar is Rs 50 crore. In addition, the combined revenue of all of his companies has been close to Rs 100 crore. His diligence, preparation, and well-executed efforts have led to this accomplishment.
Yuvraj Parihar has shown that there is no limit to success if a work is completed completely and accurately. His hardship tale may serve as motivation for all businesspeople, not just farmers.
Awards and recognition on a global scale
The success of Yuvraj extends beyond India. He won the title of “Best Potato Grower and Exporter” at the International Potato Conclave in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in 2020. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, then-Indian Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, and now-virtually Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended his efforts and contributions to the agricultural sector at this session.
He has won several national and international honors as a result of his diligence and accomplishments. Numerous accolades have been bestowed upon him by institutions such as the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture, NAFED, and HAFED. In addition, he has been honored by several state agriculture ministers and chief ministers.
Education’s significance in agriculture
According to Yuvraj Parihar, education plays a significant role in the agricultural industry. “The son of an engineer wants to be an engineer, the son of a doctor wants to be a doctor,” he said, “but the son of a farmer does not want to be a farmer. But eventually, a farmer’s kid will still desire to work as a farmer even after completing his education. His experience has shown that significant profits may be made from agriculture if there is additional revenue coming from other sources. He has shown that, in addition to using conventional ways, innovation and a technical approach can also make agriculture a significant source of wealth.
