According to Satyavan, “Healthy soil makes a wealthy farmer,” warning that chemical pesticides are degrading soil quality and encouraging crop illnesses. In the end, his intercropping and integrated farming practices assist to revitalize his farm’s soil and production.

A Trailblazer in the Onion Nursery

Satyavan has perfected the art of producing onion nurseries by substituting modern technology for more traditional methods. He now uses organic ways to grow high-quality onion seedlings, which he sells to other farmers for Rs100 per kilogram. This enterprise alone has also resulted in a significant boost in his income.

Growing Sugarcane Incomes

Satyavan looked at direct-to-market strategies as an alternative to the conventional methods of selling sugarcane to mills in order to increase profitability. By emphasizing the importance of marketing strategies in agriculture, his approach assists farmers in obtaining greater prices.

Satyavan uses drip irrigation and sprinklers to properly distribute water to his pea and onion crops. This strategy increases productivity, protects crops from frost, and demonstrates the benefits of modern irrigation over traditional techniques. Satyavan combines organic farming, dairy farming, and nursery management to generate between Rs 18 and Rs 20 lakh annually. Because his input costs are so low—roughly Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per acre—his business is very successful.

People are becoming ill with deadly conditions, including stomach ulcers, cancer, and more, as a result of the overuse of pesticides and insecticides, which is poisoning our land. By increasing his natural farming operations from 5 acres to 7 acres and offering his customers products free of toxins, he now hopes to satisfy the rising demand for organic fruit.

A Note to Other Farmers

By practicing natural farming without the use of chemical inputs like urea and DAP, our predecessors showed that sustainable agriculture techniques may provide high-quality results for many years. I believe that we can effectively resume such practices at this time.
