Success Story: He left his job in LIC and tried his hand at farming, now he is earning lakhs of rupees
Success Story: A young man from Dausa gave up his work at LIC to attempt farming. He is making a good living by cultivating a variety of crops, fruits, and vegetables using current organic farming methods. He makes fifty lakhs a year. Originally from a farming family, Shyam Sundar Sharma, a native of Didwana town in Lalsot, worked in Jeevan Bima Nigam but had always aspired to pursue a new career path in farming.

He quit his work in order to purchase 20 bighas of land independently and begin organic farming by erecting a polyhouse on the property. It produced positive outcomes, and farming began. For this innovative effort on many platforms, he received recognition. Officials from the agriculture department visit his farm and instruct farmers.
A farmer quit his job to pursue farming
According to farmer Shyam Sundar, I work for the government and am paid 60,000 rupees a month. But being a farmer makes me happy. After eight years of farming, I now raise 28 different kinds of crops using organic methods. I spent Rs 60 lakh in 2018 to purchase agricultural land in the adjoining hamlet of Khatwa (Dausa), and after consulting with Agriculture Department representatives, I set up a polyhouse there. I’m cultivating cucumbers in the polyhouse right now.
We also get this crop ready
Along with wheat, oats, gram, maize, tomato, brinjal, cabbage, cucumber, papaya, and chili, depending on the season, I am also growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. Revdmal Sharma, my father, works as a farmer. In Didwana of Lalsot, father has been engaged in traditional farming. I did well in my academics. In 2010, after completing two years of labor law coursework, I was hired by LIC as a development officer. I worked here for eight years before quitting in 2018 to pursue a career in agriculture.
Gourd, tinda, bitter gourd, tomato, kheer, wheat, gram, maize, and many more crops are among the 27 to 28 kinds of crops that Shyamsunder Sharma claims to cultivate on 20 bigha of land. In addition, I plant papaya, bitter gourd, lemon, and mango. Eight or ten years have passed since I started performing this job, and I still like it. I didn’t feel as content while I worked in the revenue service as I do now that I am farming.
Through my job, I’ve been able to connect with a lot of individuals
Working in agriculture brings me much joy. Because I desire to better society’s state and direction, I have connected with a lot more individuals via my effort. What kind of labor is involved in agriculture? We can do this by widely disseminating it. In our nation, 50% of the people work in agriculture. The agricultural department has also been quite helpful to me.
