He has been creating handicrafts from locals and wooden bird homes for birds to dwell in for the last eight years. Nowadays, almost every Indian state sells his handicrafts. He uses this ability to manage his livelihood as well. Arjun tells the reporters in a special interview that he went out to get a job after finishing his education in the hamlet and worked for a number of reputable companies.

But he fell in love with nature, the mountains, and the concept of taking action. He then began working for himself, creating handicrafts out of natural materials while living in the highlands. They also employed young individuals from the neighborhood as their workforce grew over time.

Story of Success: Worked without funding

Arjun claims that he did not take out a loan or utilize any government programs for his job. He made no investment when he began this enterprise. The villagers sell them wood from the highlands, such as chinar, chhaun, and fallen pine. They then transform them into visually appealing masterpieces using their skills.

After that, they get it ready by adding color, shine, and other components. According to him, they construct classic hill huts and tiny and huge bird houses out of wood. They are also aesthetically pleasing to many. The cost of these bird homes is less than Rs 150. It differs according on its size and design.

Birds are something Arjun says he loves a much. He also constructs bird houses as part of his work. He has also constructed several bird homes in his home. He feeds the birds every day as well. He feeds the birds food valued at about Rs 3,000 each month. In remembrance of the hill bird Barbet, he has named his business “Barbet Handcraft.” His store is located on Mukteshwar Marg, close to Bhateliya.
