Success Story: After leaving his job abroad, the farmer started cultivating this thing, earning in lakhs
Success Story: Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh area is well-known for its farming. Many of these farmers are now working to elevate agriculture to the level of an industry. Here, a lot of people engage in large-scale agricultural. Rupesh Kumar is one of them; he quit his job overseas to pursue a career in agriculture. Additionally, he is hiring forty additional workers.
After ITI, Rupesh informed the reporters, he worked all over the nation. He then found employment as a workshop engineer in Myanmar, where he spent two years. Upon his return to India during the Corona time, he came to the realization that it is preferable to labor domestically rather than overseas in order to serve others here as well.
In order to avoid having to go overseas…
He said that at first, he was unable to come up with a plan of action. Every job opportunity was shut off. He began farming by renting some fields so that he wouldn’t have to go back to Myanmar since he didn’t have enough money. He made the decision to engage in large-scale farming after seeing the potential for profit and seeing a rise in interest. I’m farming now by renting out thirteen acres of land. He has also benefited from other government programs.
He grows these things.
According to Rupesh, he makes an effort to provide crops that are available in the market in accordance with the season. Early crops are profitable. Later on, the market’s demand declines and the price is appropriate. He now cultivates peas on around five acres of land. Six acres are cultivated with tomatoes. In addition to Hazaribagh, the states of Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and South India are also receiving peas and tomatoes. During the first stage, peas were sold for Rs 250 per kilogram. The current price per kilogram is between Rs 70 and Rs 80. Peas are delivered to the farm and removed by businessmen.
Content with his work
According to Rupesh Kumar, farming need to be seen as a business. On his property, 40 workers have been hired as of today. It employs the majority of women. Village women are employed in the village itself. For job, they are not required to go to the city. He claims that he finds it challenging to calculate the true amount of money made from farming. However, farming has improved his quality of life.
