Traditional crops are not grown by farmers.
Traditional crop production is now progressively giving way to income crops, and fruit gardening—particularly strawberry growing—has emerged as a popular destination for farmers. Farmers’ incomes are rising as a result of this development. In fact, cash crops yield more profits and provide advantages faster than conventional crops. As a result, farmers are increasingly focusing more on this.
Making a good living
We are making a lot of money from growing strawberries, said Yadunanand Singh Pujari, a farmer from Bakeganj, in an interview with the media. He said that he had three bighas planted with strawberries. The first week of January is when it will begin to yield fruit. He adds that strawberry plants are planted in sandy loam soil and are ordered from Pune. He has three bighas with around 1500 strawberry plants.
Profit is often made.
Farmers that grow strawberries are making a healthy profit. This fruit may cost up to 400 rupees per kilogram. Farmers are making three to four times as much money as they cost because of its strong sales. Farmers are increasingly pursuing strawberry farming for this reason. Instead of conventional farming, they would want to engage in cash farming.
