Apple plum cultivation: In addition to making millions of rupees in income, Aurangabad farmers are often experimenting with new methods of growing fruits and vegetables. Farmers in this district, which is encircled by mountainous regions, are making thousands of rupees in income from the extensive cultivation of Bal Sundari Apple Plum. Vivek Mehta, a farmer, grows this unique plum variety in two bighas, earning Rs 3.5 lakh a year as a result.

Cultivation of Bal Sundari Apple Plum

In Rishyap village, Kutumba block, Aurangabad district, farmer Vivek Mehta is growing Bal Sundari Apple Plum in two bighas. Let us inform you that this is the first time the district has seen large-scale cultivation of it. Prior to this, farmer Vivek Mehta grew brinjal, potatoes, and strawberries on a considerable scale. He said that the farmers in his community grow guava on a vast scale. He had been informed about this fruit by the same farmer, who also promised to grow it in the near future.

Double the cost-profit margin

The farmer said that after researching the Bal Sundari Apple Plum, he learned that it is the most sought-after plum variety outside of the state and that growing it yields almost twice as much profit. He then placed an order with West Bengal for the seeds of this unique plum type and began growing it in around two bighas.

Two lakhs per acre in profit

According to the farmer, he planted the sapling in 2021, and it took ten to twelve months for it to mature. This plum is renowned for its sweetness and has an almost apple-like appearance. A profit of almost two lakh rupees per acre is made by the farmer. In states like Ranchi, Daltonganj, and Chhattisgarh, as well as the state itself, farmers provide it.
