PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: The government intends to offer 1 crore houses with the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Scheme by 2027 in order to fulfill its goal of lighting up homes with carbon-free power.

On December 3, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power Shripad Naik informed Parliament that 1.45 registrations had been made with the government, of which 6.34 lakh houses had had their installations finished.

How much will one crore roofs cost?

By FY 27, 1 crore rooftop solar systems would be completed with the help of Rs 75,021 crore allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. In a written response to the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Shripad Naik said that the national platform has recorded 1.45 crore registrations, 26.38 lakh applications, and 6.34 lakh rooftop solar installations. He also announced that 3.66 lakh applications have received the subsidy, which is now being given out on a regular basis in 15–21 days.

Gujarat has the most of solar power plants installed.

Gujarat has the most solar power plants built under this program (2,86,545), followed by Maharashtra (1,26,344) and Uttar Pradesh (53,423), according to government statistics. According to Naik, the ministry is working with all parties involved, including REC, Discom, and suppliers, to resolve any issues that may arise during the scheme’s smooth execution.

How do you submit an application?

Register on the site first. Next, choose your state. Choose the firm that distributes power.

Next, input the number of the electricity user. Enter your email address and cellphone number. Go over the instructions on the site.

Enter your cellphone number and customer number to log in. Use the form to apply for rooftop solar.

Await the Discom’s approval of the feasibility. Install the plant from any authorized vendor in your Discom as soon as the feasibility clearance is obtained.

After the installation is finished, apply for a net meter and submit the plant specifications.

The commissioning certificate will be generated via the portal after the installation of the net meter and the Discom inspection.

After receiving the commissioning report, use the site to send in a canceled check and your bank account information. Within 30 days, your subsidy will be deposited into your bank account.
