What Is The PM Aasha Scheme?
Modi ’s government has taken decision to continue it further with further appropriation of Rs 35, 000 crore for the PM Asha Scheme. This is an insurance scheme to the Farmers. Wherein the government seeks to buy farmers their produce above the MSP, if their harvest which comprises pulses, oilseeds, other grains or vegetables goes under the stated amount. Financial outlay of the strategy
The overall budget for the 15th Finance Commission cycle which ends in 2025-2026, is 35,000 crores. With cheap consumables more will be availed to the clients. Due to this they will pay less for the goods while farmers will receive more for their production. This is so because the brokers sell to farmers their own goods at lower price and later sell them at a higher price to the consumer. Farmers and customers suffer as a result.
This restriction will not be applicable to tur, urad, and lentil crops during the 2024 2025 session. Since the new regulations will only apply to the previously passed regulations for them, whereby the procurement of lentil, urad and tur was confined towards 100 percent.
According to the government, the PM Asha Scheme will help in increasing the confidence level of the farmers as well as enhance their degree of self dependence. Further, with more production, the dependence on imports to cater for the domestic need will be reduced.
The PSF scheme covers horticulture crops too besides oilseeds and pulses. Furthermore, this scheme would mark the end of speculation as well as hoarding. If the market price goes beyond the MSP, then the farmers can buy at higher prices. If the price of the crops is lower than the MSP, then they can sell their crops at the MSP.
