This programme is operated under separate titles by the federal government and the states. Concurrently, the Maharashtra government launched a programme for farmers belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Neo-Buddhist communities, offering up to 90% in subsidies for micro tractors and other essential agricultural equipment. There will be a 90% subsidy available when buying a small tractor

The whole cost of tractors and equipment has been estimated at Rs 3.5 lakh under this state government programme. The government would provide Rs 3.15 lakh (90%) of this, with the farmer being responsible for the remaining Rs 35,000 (10%). Under the DBT mechanism, the subsidy money will be sent straight to the bank account.

What are the advantages of tiny tractors for farmers?

  • Low cost and ease of maintenance: Compared to large tractors, mini tractors are less expensive and need less maintenance.
  • Beneficial for small farms: These tractors work well with crops including sugarcane, vegetables, legumes, turmeric, and rice.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • Must be a Maharashtra resident.
  • The candidate must be a member of the Navbuddhist or Scheduled Caste.
  • The applicant’s name should be associated with agricultural land.
  • Farmers may apply via Kisan Bachat Group or on their own.

  • Certificate of residence
  • Land papers 7/12 and 8A caste certificates
  • Banking passbook and Aadhaar card
  • Certificate of Farmer Savings Group (if applying via a group)

What is the Mini Tractor Scheme application process?

Farmers may apply online and offline for this programme.
  • Online Application: Farmers must use the https://mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in/ portal to apply online. where all of their paperwork must be scanned and uploaded.
  • Offline Application: To apply for this programme offline, you must visit the district agricultural office or taluka that is closest to you. The officials there will review the paperwork and provide you advice.
