Homestay Scheme: Landlords will earn a lot from this scheme of Bihar government

Homestay Scheme: Bihar has significant value in the tourist industry. The Gaya Mahabodhi Temple, Patna Takht Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, Nalanda, Vaishali Vishwa Shanti Stupa, and Sitamarhi Sher Shah Suri’s Tomb are among the well-known tourist destinations in the area. Millions of domestic and foreign visitors visit there each year. Aside from this, there has been a notable surge in visitors to the state’s rural and ecotourism locations in recent years. Tourists have difficulties in this situation since there are no hotels, resorts, or dharamshalas in the area.

The government launched the Chief Minister Homestay/Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme to address the issue of lodging for visitors. Similar to hotels, residents of the state who own homes close to major tourist destinations may make money by renting them out to tourists. The state government is providing individuals with an opportunity to make money via the Chief Minister Homestay/Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme. For this, the Ministry of Tourism has established some requirements.

Travelers will have the option of staying with a host family

In Bihar, lodging options include guest houses, dharamshalas, high-end hotels, and reasonably priced hotels. They cannot, however, use this amenity outside of cities. The state tourism ministry claims that rural and ecotourism in Bihar are drawing tourists right now. Travelers find it challenging to find lodging in these areas due to a lack of hotels. The ministry said that in order to facilitate travelers’ stays near tourism destinations, the Homestay, Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme 2024 has been put into place.

These folks are able to benefit from the plan

The Chief Minister Homestay/Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme, according to the Ministry of Tourism, was established with the intention of presenting Bihar’s traditions, food, and culture. People will be able to host visitors in their homes under this. The scheme will be put into action at state-designated tourism locations. It will not, however, apply to hotels, guest houses, resorts, or boarding houses.

In these situations, it will be beneficial

The government has declared that the residential complex where the caretaker operator resides would be referred to as a bed and breakfast, while the residential complex where the landlord or promoter resides will be labeled a homestay. It was informed that the program would be applicable within a 5 km radius from the tourist site located in an urban region and a 10 km radius from the rural area. This holds true for the landlord or promoter. A home may only contain up to six rooms and at least two beds in order to be eligible for this plan. Every room needs a shower and toilet, and they need to be well maintained and well-lit.
