Govt Scheme: The government of Himachal Pradesh is implementing a number of programs to boost organic farming and raise the income of the state’s farmers. In light of this, the state government has devised a new program for the benefit of farmers, wherein the government would compensate farmers for organic manure vermicompost at a cost of Rs 300 per quintal. The Himachal Pradesh Shiva Yojana, on the other hand, was initiated to encourage horticulture crops.
For vermicompost fertilizer, farmers would get Rs 300.
Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, recently announced a plan to purchase organic manure and vermicompost at a price of Rs 300 per quintal. Additionally, he used Direct Benefit Transfer to pay 100 farmers Rs 1 lakh.
In order to boost horticultural growth in seven districts, the state government has also started the Himachal Pradesh Shiva project, which is a Rs 1,292 crore Himachal Pradesh Subtropical Horticulture, Irrigation and Value Addition Project. This project will include 6,000 hectares of farmland. More than 15,000 farmer households would directly profit from the promotion of fruit growing, including orange, guava, litchi, and plum.
In order to encourage natural farming, “Him Bhog Atta” was also launched at the same time. This brand will first provide maize flour, but in the future, it will also offer wheat flour to the public. Natural crops will be used to make Him Bhog flour. The government of Himachal Pradesh is implementing a number of programs to encourage natural farming in the state, which allows farmers to earn more money.
