Bullock Farming Scheme: To help the state’s small and marginal farmers, the Rajasthani government has unveiled a new initiative. Farmers that employ bullock pairs to promote traditional farming will get financial support under this programme. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that this programme, which was included in the 2025–2026 budget, will support traditional and ecologically friendly agricultural practices in addition to helping farmers.
What is the plan?
Every qualified farmer would get a Rs 30,000 subsidy on a pair of bulls under this new programme. Its goal is to assist farmers who continue to use bulls on their farms rather than tractors and other costly farming equipment. The government thinks that this would help small and marginal farmers financially while still maintaining traditional agricultural practices.
Who stands to gain?
The press reports that farmers with at least two bulls between the ages of 15 months and 12 years will be eligible for the programme’s benefits. Additionally, obtaining animal insurance for the bulls will be required. The small’ or marginal’ farmers are the only ones eligible for this programme. Obtaining a certificate from the Tehsildar is required for this. Additionally, a property ownership certificate or a forest rights lease must be shown.
Procedure for applications
The scheme’s whole application procedure is now conducted online. Farmers who are interested in applying may do so by going to the Rajasthan Sathi Portal at https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in. Farmers must submit the bull pair’s most current picture, insurance records, health certificate, and affidavit on an Rs 100 stamp in addition to completing the form. Within 30 days of the application being verified, the approval will be communicated via the web and SMS. Farmers may also seek assistance from the closest e-Mitra centres if they are having trouble applying online.
