Application age limit

Up to the age of forty, anybody may apply for this government program. However, the government has been encouraged by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority to raise the maximum age to align with the Atal Pension Scheme. In addition, a set monthly contribution is required to this pension plan. Following this, upon retirement, a pension of between 5,000 and 8,000 rupees per month is payable. That means, once every six months, a little Rs 1239 has to be spent in this plan. Because of this, the government is offering a pension of Rs 5,000 per month or Rs 60,000 per year to everybody who turns 60 after they are born.
