Vegetable Farming: Farmers of Aurangabad are earning profits in lakhs from vegetable farming
Vegetable Farming: Large-scale vegetable gardening is practiced in Aurangabad, Bihar. In particular, it is cultivated more in Obra. In the Obra block’s Shankarpur hamlet, dozens of farmers grow cabbage on a massive scale. Let us inform you that a large number of farmers are quitting their occupations to pursue vegetable growing in Shankarpur, which has developed into a center for vegetable production. This town produces more than 500 quintals of veggies per year.
According to farmer Rameshwar Mehta, who grows in around 20 bighas, there is a significant demand for cabbage throughout the winter months. According to the farmer, the best months to grow cabbage are September through October, which is when the farmer grows it. According to the farmer, loamy sandy soil is ideal for growing it because of the large yield.
Up to 100 quintals of yield are produced per acre.
According to farmer Rameshwar Mehta, there are several hybrid cabbage kinds. As a result, greater yield is produced in less time. September Early, Copen Hagen, and Golden Acre cabbage kinds are the ones that farmers choose to grow. Approximately 60 to 70 days are needed to prepare. It yields 80 to 100 quintals per acre.
Five lakhs are earned by each farmer.
According to the farmer, this community produces more than 1.5 tons of cabbage annually. By the end of December, the cabbage will be ready. Following this, it will be harvested and distributed to wholesalers in Jharkhand, Patna, Rohtas, and Gaya. The unique feature is that farmers don’t have to go far. When traders visit the farm, they remove cabbage. From growing vegetables, each farmer in this community makes up to 5 lakhs a year.
