In rainfed fields, it thrives as a weed among the crops of millet, guar, moth, and moong. Tumba vines can flourish in vacant areas when there is less rainfall. In the market, it costs between 30 and 40 rupees a kilogram. For the four months of the season, this Tumba stays.
Additionally, farmers are making a lot of money
Farmers used to spend a lot of money and effort pulling it out of the field because they thought it was a weed. The locals now rely on Tumba as a source of income because of its demand. In this scenario, individuals are harvesting Tumba from the fields and selling it to dealers for thousands of rupees. In addition, hundreds of laborers have found work by harvesting seeds and cutting, drying, and gathering Tumba. After cutting and drying them, they remove the seeds, and then purchase them for between 220 and 250 rupees each quintal.

According to ayurvedic physician Mukesh Kumar Gehlot, tumba is administered to animals as a medication and works well. These days, a lot of Ayurvedic and traditional medications also include it. Following the doctor’s instructions, it should be taken in the recommended dosage.
