Sugarcane Farming Tips: Just do this before sowing sugarcane, the disease will disappear
Sugarcane Farming Tips: Nowadays, March is the month when spring sugarcane is sown. Sugarcane crops are susceptible to several diseases, which should be addressed at the time of seeding. When it comes to sugarcane crops, red rot disease is quite harmful. Another name for this illness is “cancer of sugarcane.” Another name for this illness is red rot. The sugarcane crop is severely harmed by this illness. The appropriate precautions should be followed while planting sugarcane in order to avoid this harmful illness.

Red rot disease severely damages the sugarcane crop, according to Sanjeev Kumar Pathak, Extension Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Research Institute, who spoke to the media report. Some crucial considerations should be made while planting the sugarcane crop in order to avoid this illness. Sugarcane should only be sown after the soil has been purified, and farmers should treat the seeds at the time of planting. Additionally, avoid planting any red rot disease-prone varieties. Plant a kind that is resistant to the illness known as red rot.
Additionally, seed treatment is required
Treat the seeds before planting sugarcane. For seed treatment, immerse one or two sugarcane seed pieces in a solution containing one gram of thiophenate methyl per liter for ten minutes. Sow this seed in the field after that. This will protect the crop from fungal infections. The crop will be protected against red rot disease in particular.
Before planting sugarcane, do these actions
When planting sugarcane, the soil must also be treated. Make sure the field is thoroughly prepared before beginning any soil treatment. After the field has been thoroughly plowed, plow the soil to make it softer. Mix 10 kg of Trichoderma with 2 to 3 quintals of rotting cow dung manure, distribute the mixture around the field, and use a patta to level it before the last plowing. The sugarcane crop is then sown using scientific methods. However, if a farmer is unable to use Trichoderma for soil research at the time of sowing, they can mix Trichoderma with rotten cow dung and spread it after weeding the lines when the sugarcane is 40 to 45 days old and beginning to sprout.
Plant these kinds
Red rot disease sensitive varieties should not be sown in order to prevent the disease. Sugarcane variety Co. 0238 is prone to red rot disease; therefore, do not plant it at all. Red rot disease-resistant cultivars should be planted by farmers. Kosha 13235, Kosha 18231, Kosha 14201, Kosha 15023, and Kolkh 16202 are new varieties that farmers may plant.
