Farmer Ram Bhajan Prasad of Chandwar village of Churchu block of Hazaribagh has earned a lot by growing peas on his four acres of land. Talking to Jharkhand Media, farmer Ram Bhajan Prasad told that he started farming on a large scale in 2022 by leasing 10 acres of land. Since then he has been doing early farming. He has also planted melon and early cucumber in his field at the same time.
There is bumper profit from peas
He told that he has grown peas on four acres of land. Peas were grown in August and September. The crop started coming after 60 days. So far peas have been harvested five times. 5 to 8 quintals of peas are harvested at a time. Wholesalers of Bihar take these peas from the field. He told that till now about 2 lakh rupees have been spent on pea cultivation in the market.
Apart from this, peas worth 7 lakh rupees have been sold
Two more crops of peas are yet to come. Due to less pea crop this year, the profit has also decreased. New farmers can get good profit from its cultivation. However, only when the crop is sown at the right time.
