Pea crop: Buttermilk can save pea crop from these dangerous diseasesThe month of November is considered suitable for sowing peas, the main pulse crop. Farmers can get good production in pea crop at very low cost. Pea cultivation is a great way for farmers to earn good profits in a short time, but the diseases that come with it can destroy the crop. Especially the wilt disease, which affects the roots of peas and makes the plants wither. If it is not managed at the right time, the entire crop can be destroyed. In such a situation, let us know, how you can protect the pea crop from these dangerous diseases with the right seed and soil treatment.
Agriculture expert Dr. NP Gupta posted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Niyamatpur said that wilt disease occurs in pea crop. Due to which many times the entire crop is gradually destroyed and it becomes difficult for farmers to recover their cost. It is important that farmers sow pea crop only after soil purification as well as seed treatment. Apart from this, try to sow the pea crop by making a bed or making a furrow and plant it on the upper end of the bed. Apart from this, farmers can also save the crop by doing some home remedies.
Do this work with cow dung
Wilt disease is caused by fungus present in the soil. In which the plants dry up after being uprooted from the roots. It is important that farmers do soil research before sowing. To do soil research, mix two kilograms of Trichoderma in 35 to 40 kilograms of rotten cow dung and keep it in a shady place for 10 days. After that, spread the entire mixture in the entire field and sow the pea crop.
Use this medicine
Seed treatment is an important process before sowing any crop. At the same time, seeds should also be treated at the time of sowing pulses crop peas. To treat the seeds, farmers can use 2.5 grams of carbendazim per kilogram of seed. Apart from this, farmers can also treat the seeds by mixing 1 gram carbendazim and 2 grams thiram. Due to treated seeds, wilt disease does not occur and seed germination is also better.
Treat seeds with buttermilk
Dr. NP Gupta said that if farmers adopt some home remedies before sowing pea crop, then the crop can be saved from wilt disease. Before sowing pea crop, farmers should soak pea seeds in buttermilk prepared at home for 30 minutes. After that spread the seeds in a shady place and dry them. If the pea crop is sown after the seeds dry, then it will not suffer from wilt disease. 2 liters of buttermilk is sufficient to treat one kg of seeds.
