The field should have ten yellow traps per hectare.

5 milliliters of Azadiractan 1500 ppm, a pesticide based on neem. Make a solution with 1 milliliter per liter of water and spray it on the crop.

If the infestation is severe, a chemical insecticide such as Imidacloprid 8% SL 1 ml per 3 liters of water, Oxydemeton Methyl 25 EC 1 ml per liter of water, or Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 1 gram per liter of water should be sprayed.

The sawfly

Adult insects have black heads and are orange-yellow in color. It is known as a sawfly because its female ovipositor resembles a saw. Its larvae cut the leaves, causing damage.

Administration:

The crop should be sprayed with 5 milliliters of Azadiractin 1500 ppm, a pesticide based on neem, diluted 1 milliliter per liter of water. The best chemical pesticide to use is 5 ml of 30% EC dimethoate. Apply a solution of 1.5 milliliters of Cleanphos 25% EC per liter of water to the crop.
