Memorandum of agreement: Every year, Yoga Guru Ramdev purchases the well-known turmeric from the Bahraich area of Uttar Pradesh to use in the production of Ayurvedic medications. Bahraich’s turmeric is of excellent quality, which contributes to its high demand. For this reason, the yoga guru’s firm and three Bahraich FPOs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

In order to get a fair price for their turmeric crop and food producers, three FPOs of Bahraich and the firm of Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev have inked an MOU on CM Yogi’s orders. Three Bahraich FPOs—Pratyush Bioenergy Farmer Producer Company Limited, Veerangana Laxmibai Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited, and CSC Raj Kisan Producer Company Limited—have signed this Memorandum of Understanding.

The Memorandum of Understanding inked in Haridwar was witnessed by Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, Bahraich District Magistrate Monica Rani, Deputy Agriculture Director TP Shahi, Director of CSC Raj Kisan Producer Company Limited Mihinpurwa Akhilesh Singh, and others. The Mihinpurwa region of Bahraich is ideal for agriculture because of its natural resources, arable terrain, and temperate environment, according to the district magistrate. This is the rationale for the extensive cultivation of green vegetables, jimikand, and turmeric here. Additionally, it is transmitted to several states and state districts. The food producers were yet unable to get a reasonable price for their goods.

purchase of 45–50,000 tons annually

In order to boost the farmers’ income, Swami Ramdev’s organization has been selling and marketing 45–50,000 tons of turmeric annually at a rate of 20–25 tons per hectare across an area of around 2000 hectares. Turmeric is produced by 1,880 male and 975 female farmers in FPO, according to Deputy Agriculture Director TP Shahi. Additionally, Baba Ramdev was greeted by District Magistrate Monica Rani, who also gave him a religious emblem.
