Ginger Farming: Cultivation of this variety of ginger will increase the yield significantly

Ginger Farming: In addition to the usual paddy agriculture, farmers in Chhattisgarh may also increase their profits by growing ginger. Anil Banjare, a worker at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Raipur, claims that although ginger cultivation may be a preferable choice for farmers, rice farming sometimes results in loss because of a shortage of water. Additionally, there is comparatively little need for medicinal spraying here, which lowers farmers’ costs.

Adaptable to Chhattisgarh’s climate

The enhanced ginger variety known as “Suprabha” was created by agricultural specialists at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur with consideration for the climate of Chhattisgarh. In addition to being highly fragrant, this native type may enhance the flavor of food even in tiny amounts. The ‘Suprabha’ cultivar of ginger yields 30 to 35 quintals per acre of land. Ginger’s market prices vary from time to time, but they are always at least Rs 120 per kilogram. Under such circumstances, farming might develop into a reliable and lucrative source of income for farmers.

The ridge technique may be used to grow ginger

Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s Anil Banjare said that cultivating ginger requires the preparation of the soil. The land should be well plowed and ridged before cultivation. The months of May and June are the best times for this. Ginger seeds should be treated with a fungicide to prevent rot and fungus. Compared to rice, ginger growing is quite inexpensive. All that is needed after planting is hoeing and weeding. Since ginger is an eight-month crop, producers may find it more advantageous.

Achieve a high yield at a minimal cost

It is possible to grow ginger along the hills as well as in the fields. This allows farmers to use more land and raise their revenue even more. Experts in agriculture believe that growing ginger might open up new opportunities for Chhattisgarh farmers. This crop yields more profits at lower costs, and farmers won’t have many problems growing it because of the climate. Farmers may improve their financial situation if they use the appropriate methods.
