An Ideal Climate and Soil

For Ginger ki Kheti, sandy loam soil is said to be ideal since it promotes crop development and increases farmer production. For the growth of ginger, a soil pH of 6.0 to 7.5 is deemed suitable. The ideal temperature range for ginger plants is thought to be between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius. Its plants need enough watering and moisture. Ginger is planted in March or April, and when the plants are completely grown, it is produced in October or November.

Using Manure from Cow Dung

Farmers should apply cow dung manure to the fields of ginger farms in order to have a decent output. Farmers should mix vermicompost, neem cake, and rotting cow dung manure well with the field’s soil. The earth should then be leveled. In order to plant 2 to 3 quintals of seeds per hectare in the fields, farmers must now split it into little beds. Ginger is seeded in March or April in South India, and irrigation is then completed.

Its harvest is fully ready eight to nine months after the seeds are planted. The ginger crop becomes yellow and begins to dry out when it is fully mature and ready, at which point plant development ceases. Growing ginger may yield 150 to 200 quintals per hectare for farmers. In the marketplaces, it costs at least 40 rupees per kilogram. Cultivating it may easily reward farmers between 3.5 and 4 lakhs.
