On 25 acres of land, Barabar Nursery has planted over a million drumstick plants. With the aid of a processing device, it gathers the leaves and turns them into powder. In 2020, Barabar Nursery began growing drumsticks on 25 acres of land. With the assistance of the Forest Department, the Bhaikh Forest Committee established Gaughat Nursery in Barabar, Makhdumpur block. From harvesting to producing powder, 30 to 40 workers are employed in this processing facility. The residents of the nearby villages now have jobs thanks to its introduction.

Additionally, residents of 20 villages have begun growing drumstick in order to benefit from the sale of its leaves. Drumstick leaves are purchased by the forest department for ₹20 per kilogram. In the same way, 6 kilogram of leaves are harvested by a machine to make 1 kg of powder. Numerous illnesses are treated using the powder.

How many people in the villages are benefiting?

According to Sudhir Sharma, president of the Bhaikh Forest Committee, it was initiated in 2020 with the intention of benefiting the locals. As a consequence, the establishment of this processing plant has helped the residents of 20 communities today. They sell leaves to the forest committee that were previously discarded because they were thought to be worthless. The drumstick plants’ leaves are harvested and placed in the processing drying equipment to produce the order. Packages from 250 grams to 2500 kilos are available. One kilogram of powder costs 320 naira.

Bumper benefit from growing Moringa

He said that the Forest Department and Forest Plus Two were primarily responsible for its inception. Forest +2 was responsible for covering all costs. He said that if a person over 30 takes 10 grams of this powder every day, their blood sugar and blood pressure may be significantly reduced. In addition, this powder works wonders for gas, acidity, and constipation.

In June, July, and August, it is grown. Its plant is imported from Rajasthan and Gujarat. PK m1 is this species. It is particularly used in medications. It’s very bitter. When it comes to revenue, growing Moringa leaves is quite advantageous. One acre may yield up to one lakh.
