Date palm planting makes farmers wealthy!
The government has set a goal to cultivate date palms on five hectares, according to District Horticulture Officer Mewaram. There will be 810 Barhi species planted. For one plant, the government will provide a 50% subsidy. In order to cultivate date palms, tissue culture plants were imported from Rajasthan. In addition, farmers received instruction in Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. In Mirzapur, farmers received instruction on how to farm in accordance with the local environment. The date palm species Barhi, Mel, and Hallavi are appropriate for farmers based on the conditions in Mirzapur.
Additionally, Jhansi and Chitrakoot will be used for farming.
According to Mewaram, cultivation would take place in Jhansi and Chitrakoot along the Mirzapur line. One hectare is sown with 162 plants. The plants were spaced 25 feet apart. These plants yield for 80 years and are ready in only three to four years. Ten to twelve thousand rupees may be made from a single plant. In the market, dates cost between 60 and 70 rupees per kilogram. Farmers benefit from this farming.
