It is thought that soil that is friable and sandy is ideal for date palm growth. Its field’s soil has to be properly drained. Up to two or three meters of rough, rocky ground is unsuitable for date palm cultivation. The pH of the soil must be between 7 and 8 for it to be grown.

Date Palm Varieties

There are two types of date palms: male and female. The maximum yield is attributed to the Barhi varietal. This variety’s fruits mature late in the season, yet the plant grows quite quickly. From a single plant, 70–100 kg of fruits are produced. Its oval-shaped, golden fruits have a distinct hue. The female date palm species includes the following varieties: Barhi, Khuneji, Hilawi, Jamali, Khadrawi, and Medjool. However, the male type of date palm does not yield fruits; instead, it solely produces flowers. Dhanami and Madsrimel are two of the male date palm kinds.
