Cultivation of Celery: Farmers can become rich by cultivating this type of celery, know how to cultivate it

Cultivation of Celery: The production of better celery varieties is bringing about a new revolution in Chhattisgarh’s agricultural industry. Farmers are making more money and advancing beyond conventional farming, particularly with the adoption of the ‘Chhattisgarh Celery-1’ variety. The output capacity has improved significantly as a result of the scientific approach used in this variety’s cultivation, including timely planting and fertilizer management.

The ‘Chhattisgarh Celery-1’ variety requires just 1.5 to 2 kg of seed per acre. To prevent seed-borne infections, the seed is treated with 2.5 grams of carbendazim per kilogram of seed before planting.

Use this technique for growing celery

The row arrangement used in celery cultivation is maintained at 30 x 20 cm (row x plant), which gives plants enough room to flourish. In farming, 8–10 tons of cow dung manure are used per hectare, coupled with 30 kilograms of potash, 90 kilograms of nitrogen, and 40 kilograms of phosphorus. Using a drip irrigation system, water is delivered for 30 minutes every two days, saving water and giving the plants the moisture they need.

In addition, the fertigation technique is utilized to apply soluble fertilizers such as NPK (19:19:19, 12:61:0, and 13:0:45). “Oxyfluorfen” is sprayed at a rate of 75 grams per acre to suppress weeds. Simultaneously, thiamethoxam and imidacloprid have been discovered to work well together to control insects. Mycobutanol and trichoderma biological techniques are used to prevent root rotting in order to control illness.

Up to 10 or 12 quintals of production

One hectare of land may produce up to 10 to 12 quintals of celery with sophisticated management. For the farmers, this is turning out to be a lucrative transaction given the present market pricing. In general, compared to conventional crops, this farming produces higher profit in less time. In the future, the state’s celery industry may reach new heights in terms of therapeutic cultivation. In addition to raising farmers’ incomes, this will enable Chhattisgarh to become self-sufficient in medicinal crops.
