He now grows capsicum in around three bighas and makes between two and two and a half lakh rupees from his farming.

According to Farmer Ravi, traditional farming predominates in our region, but the profits from these crops are not as high as those from vegetable cultivation. We began growing capsicums one and a half to two years ago, and we made a healthy profit. We now grow capsicum in three bighas, with a profit margin of around two to two and a half lakh rupees. The cost of a bigha’s worth of capsicum is approximately fifteen to twenty thousand rupees. One vegetable that is always in high demand in the markets is capsicum. Today, capsicum is offered for a very high price because of the crop’s rotting and melting caused by severe rain.

According to farmer Ravi, growing capsicum is rather simple. We start by leveling the land and plowing it two or three times. Next, we create ridges on the field and cover them with mulch. After that, one foot apart is used to plant the capsicum plants, and irrigation is applied. After planting capsicum, the crop begins to emerge in about two months, at which point we may harvest it and sell it in the marketplaces. For the purpose of growing capsicums, the soil pH should be 6. The pepper plant can withstand temperatures as high as 40 degrees, and it takes the plant 75 days after planting to begin producing fruit.
