A bug known as the Razo Weevil is very detrimental to banana trees, according to Dr. Birendra Anant, Assistant Director of the Agriculture Department in Rajnandgaon. This bug attacks the roots and lives in the soil, which causes the plant to wither and cease growing. To detect and manage this pest, ongoing examination is required starting in the nursery stage.

Banana plant damage

By opening it, creating a tunnel, and puncturing it, it penetrates the root section of the banana plant and consumes its share. As a result, the banana plant sustains harm, stops growing, and eventually withers. He adds that throughout its early nursery period, it should be regularly examined. This calls for the application of a powerful pesticide. There is a medication called chlorpyrifos that may be used to suppress the Rhizo Weevil pest.
