The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has established new guidelines for agricultural education, which will further provide students access to career options in the agricultural industry. In order to prepare them for future technologies, B.Sc. Agriculture students will now study advanced disciplines like robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in addition to agriculture.

The ICAR has made the decision to adapt agricultural education to meet modern demands. Students at agricultural institutions will profit from this by having many access and departure points. This implies that the degree format has also been modified for students, and they will now be able to move from one school to another with ease. In addition, students who drop out of school during the first year of graduation will get an undergraduate certificate after ten weeks of internship work; those who drop out after the second year will receive a UG diploma.

According to Dr. RC Aggarwal, Deputy Director General for Agricultural Education, we want agricultural education to link students to new avenues for employment and business in addition to conventional techniques. Students will get instruction in creativity and technology in addition to improving their communication abilities.

Students at agricultural institutions will now plan projects independently in order to compete at the worldwide level, with additional support from ICAR as needed. In addition, current courses like robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in many agricultural domains will be required of the students.

These new adjustments will show to be a significant advancement in the area of agricultural education and will equip upcoming farmers to meet the difficulties of the twenty-first century. As soon as the Ministry of Agriculture gives its permission, these initiatives—which aim to reorient agricultural education—will be put into action starting this session.
