Delhi Government Scheme: The poor and needy in the nation’s capital have good news thanks to Delhi’s budget. As promised before the elections, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has raised the pension in the Delhi budget. An increase in the old age, widow, and disability pensions has been announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Beginning with the next fiscal year, only the enhanced pension will be accessible. A budget of Rs 3,227 crore has been set aside by the government for each of these programs.

A sum of Rs 10,047 crore has been set aside by the Delhi Chief Minister for public welfare and social security. The Social Welfare Department, the Women and Child Development Department, and the SC/ST/OBC Department have been allotted Rs 9,780 crore of these. The old age pension in Delhi has now been raised to Rs 3000 for those over 70 and Rs 2500 for those between 60 and 69. In the same vein, pensions for widows and handicapped people have also been raised by Rs 500.

How much pension will the elderly get

Before the elections, the BJP had promised to increase the pension in Delhi; this promise has come to the fore in the first budget of the city itself and has also been fulfilled. Elderly people aged 60 to 69 years will now get a pension of Rs 2,500. This pension used to be Rs 2000. Elderly people aged 70 years or more will now get a pension of Rs 3000 instead of Rs 2500. Elderly people from minority groups and SC/ST will get an additional pension of Rs 500.

Widow pension also increased by Rs 500

Widow pension is still in force in Delhi to provide financial assistance to widows, divorced women, and women abandoned by their husbands, who are forced to live below the poverty line. Widow pension has now been increased by Rs 500. Widow pension in Delhi, which was Rs 2500 till now, will now be Rs 3000.

Good news for disabled people too

Delhi CM has also given good news to the disabled. Disabled pension in Delhi has also been increased by Rs 500. Also, now they will get Rs 3000 instead of Rs 2500. But there are some conditions for this. Applications for pensions are accepted only when the disability is at least 40%.
