Success Story in Saffron Cultivation: This couple from Nagpur earned a lot by growing saffron at home
Success Story in Saffron Cultivation: Nothing is impossible if you are passionate about your profession. Recently, one such example has surfaced. In Nagpur, a couple is making a lot of money by growing saffron in the air. This pair is reportedly making up to Rs 50 lakh annually. Tell us how you may produce saffron inside and make a lot of money in such a scenario.

In fact, a couple in the Lok Seva Nagar neighborhood has made a remarkable start. In 2020, as a little experiment, Akshay Hole and his wife, Divya Loharke Hole, began growing saffron in an 80-square-foot vertical aeroponic unit. We chose to cultivate saffron because, according to Akshay, it is highly costly, in great demand, and produced in relatively little quantities in the nation.
For this unique cultivation, Akshay and Divya traveled to Kashmir for three and a half months, during which time they learned the subtleties of traditional saffron farming. In order to successfully complete his one-of-a-kind endeavor, he thoroughly researched all saffron-growing methods and procedures throughout this period.
By combining with a new methodology, the traditional way of cultivating saffron has now become a unique choice for agricultural aficionados. You can now produce saffron even in an empty room in your home thanks to aeroponic technology, but there are a few unique requirements.
Setting up the Room
The first need for growing saffron is an empty room. To keep the temperature in this space cool, you will need to install an air conditioner. For this, the temperature should be 10 degrees Celsius at night and 17 degrees during the day. In order to maintain temperature regulation, the space must also be insulated with a puff panel or thermocol.
Prepare the Soil
Sandy, clayey, and sandy soil are necessary for saffron plants. To prevent water buildup, this soil is made friable before being placed in the aeroponic system. Add cow dung manure, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash to the soil to improve saffron growth.
How to Plant
Plant saffron bulbs in the soil once it has been prepared. Before planting, remember that the bulbs have germinated. If you want to cultivate high-quality saffron, you should purchase bulbs of the Mogra kind.
Remember These Things
Avoid placing the saffron plant in direct sunlight, as this might reduce its production. It’s crucial to give the plants your undivided attention while growing saffron. To maintain a cold temperature in the space where you are producing saffron, always keep the doors and windows closed.
