PM Dhan Dhanya Agriculture Scheme

• Emphasis on contemporary agricultural methods and poor yields: The program will cover 100 districts that have low credit standards, low yields, and a lack of modern agricultural practices.

• Recipient farmers: An estimated 1.7 crore farmers would profit from the program, which has the potential to significantly alter the Indian agricultural industry.

• Assistance for farmers, women, and youth: According to Sitharaman, the government would implement unique programs for rural prosperity that will help farmers, women, and youth.

• Pulses will become more self-sufficient: A six-year initiative will be started to encourage this. There will be special attention paid to tur, urad, and masoor pulses.

• Increase fruit and vegetable output: To boost fruit and vegetable production and provide farmers fair pricing, a comprehensive program will be started.

Redesigning the ‘Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana’ for street sellers was announced by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. This would raise the bank loan limit and credit card limits connected to UPI to Rs 30,000. In the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman presented her seventh consecutive budget, claiming that the program had helped over 68 lakh street vendors by relieving them of high-interest loans from the unorganized sector. According to her, the program will be redesigned and the bank and UPI-linked credit card lending limits would be raised to Rs 30,000 in light of this achievement. PM A unique program called Street Vendor Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM-Swanidhi) offers street vendors reasonably priced loans.

Udan Scheme

The government will introduce a new Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik ‘UDAN’ initiative on Saturday, according to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The plan would link 120 locations and assist four crore more people over the next ten years.

Funds of Fund Scheme

A new round of the ‘Fund of Funds’ plan for startups with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore was launched by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday in an effort to support the development of up-and-coming business owners. Given that the government is concentrating on encouraging innovation via startups, the declaration takes on importance. So far, more than 1.5 lakh startups have been recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). On January 16, 2016, the Startup India plan was unveiled. To address the financial requirements of entrepreneurs, the ‘Fund of Funds for Entrepreneurs’ (FFS) plan was launched the same year with a capital of Rs 10,000 crore. FFS is run by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), while DPIIT serves as a monitoring organization.

Rs 2 crore loan for women, SC, and ST business owners

On Saturday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government will provide a Rs 2 crore credit to five lakh women and entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who are launching their first businesses. The finance minister said that a manufacturing mission would be established for major businesses and SMEs as he presented the Union Budget for 2025–2026. In addition, the government will implement policies that will help labor-intensive industries become more productive. As to his statement, the guarantee charge would be lowered to one percent and the loan guarantee ‘cover’ will be increased to Rs 20 crore.

Daycare cancer centers are being established at district hospitals

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday that 200 “day care” cancer clinics would be established in the current fiscal year 2025–2026, and that the government will support the creation of these facilities in all district hospitals over the following three years. In the next year, 10,000 more seats will be added in hospitals and medical institutions, pushing the total number of seats to 75,000 during the following five years.

There is now no tax on Rs 12 lakh in yearly income

As anticipated, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a 100% tax exemption on yearly income up to Rs 12 lakh, which greatly relieved the middle class. The new income tax system grants this exemption. Salaried individuals would no longer be required to pay taxes on their yearly income up to Rs 12.75 lakh, thanks to a basic deduction of Rs 75,000.

The insurance industry had a 100% rise in FDI

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the insurance industry would rise from 74% to 100%, according to the finance minister’s announcement.

National Manufacturing Mission

In an effort to boost manufacturing in the nation, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the National Manufacturing Mission in the budget on Saturday. This will encourage ‘Make in India’ by supporting small, medium, and big enterprises. The finance minister said in her address that this mission would provide central ministries and states governance, monitoring, and implementation roadmaps in addition to policy assistance. The administration is dedicated to climate-friendly development, the finance minister said. In the areas of solar PV cells, electric car batteries, motors and controllers, electrolyzers, wind turbines, high-voltage transmission equipment, and grid-scale batteries, this mission will concentrate on the production of clean technologies, domestic value addition, and ecosystem construction.

What announcements are included in Bihar’s Budget 2025?

• In addition to the construction of new greenfield airports in the state, the finance minister announced the establishment of a Makhana Board for Bihar. In addition, Patna Airport and Patna IIT will be enlarged. A Makhana Board will be established in Bihar to encourage the production, marketing, and processing of Makhana, according to the Union Finance Minister.

• It is anticipated that this news would aid Bihar’s farmers, and that the establishment of the Makhana Board will further benefit them. In Bihar, makhana is now grown on over 35,000 hectares. It is connected to twenty-five thousand farms. The state that produces the most Makhana nationwide is Bihar.

• Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also announced financial support for the Western Koshi Canal ERM project, which will benefit many farmers who cultivate over 50,000 hectares of land in the Mithila region of Bihar, a state that is frequently plagued by the horror of floods.

• Bihar’s airport services would be expanded, according to Finance Minister Sitharaman’s announcement. The Udan plan calls for the installation of air service in 120 new locations around the nation. She said in the budget that Patna Airport’s capacity would be greatly increased and that a brownfield airport would be built near Bihta.

• The expansion of IIT Patna was announced by Union Finance Minister Sitharaman. The youth of Bihar would greatly benefit from the federal government’s decision. Concurrently, the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Management will be established in Bihar by the national government. According to the Union Finance Minister, the five IITs that launched after 2014 would see the development of more infrastructure. This will provide an additional 6500 kids access to schooling. The infrastructure, including hostels, will be enhanced.

The finance minister said that in order to generate 100 gigawatts of nuclear energy capacity by 2047, a nuclear energy mission would be established to conduct research and development of small modular reactors at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore. By 2033, five compact modular reactors will be in service. The Finance Minister raised the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) limit from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh in the budget.
