In almost half a bigha, Lovelesh Kumar, a native of Ganjaria village in the Barabanki district, began growing hybrid tomatoes. He made a healthy profit from this. He is now growing hybrid tomatoes in around three bighas. From this farming, Lovelesh is making between one and a half and two lakh rupees in profit.
“We have been growing tomatoes for about five years,” Lovelesh said in an interview with media. In the past, we cultivated wheat, paddy, and other crops. We began growing hybrid tomatoes from half a bigha after realizing it was not helping us. whereby we made a healthy profit.
Increased profit relative to expenses
He is now growing tomatoes in around three bighas. In a single bigha, this costs between 20,000 to 25,000 rupees, but the return is between 1.5 and 2 lakh rupees. due to the fact that hybrid tomatoes produce more than local tomatoes. It yields more fruits as well. As a result, 800 carats of tomatoes are produced in a single bigha, meaning that the farming yields a respectable return relative to the expenses.
How is the cultivation carried out?
It is really simple to grow. The land is first plowed, followed by the preparation of a tomato nursery. Its seedlings are then planted. Meanwhile, after the tree has reached a certain size, it must be watered and treated with organic fertilizer and insecticides. As a result, the plant thrives and is disease-free. Two months after the plant is planted, the crop begins to emerge at the same time.
