First, the land must be chosen for peach cultivation, Purushottam Badoni, Additional Training Officer (Horticulture Department) of Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, informed the media. In peach gardening, a one-meter-deep hole must be made, and plants must be spaced 15 to 18 feet apart. For the plant’s vegetative development, a one-meter trench works well.

He goes on to explain that the top and bottom soils must be maintained apart while creating the pit. It is necessary to keep the lower soil above and the higher soil below while planting the plant. In addition to the soil, 10 kg of cow dung manure, 50 grams of DAP, 100 grams of nitrogen NPK, and 100 grams of agrosource element must be mixed in to help the plant overcome its water deficit. The plants may then be planted.

In two years, the tree begins to yield fruit.

According to Purushottam Badoni, choosing the correct peach variety is essential for a decent yield. Saharanpur Prabhat and Shan-e-Punjab are two peach types that farmers might use for this. Training and occasional trimming are necessary for peach cultivation. The peach tree yields fruit for around 15 years after it first begins to do so in two years. Farmers may make excellent money from peach cultivation since one kilogram of peaches costs around Rs 150 in the market.
