Beans Farming: Large-scale vegetable growing is also practiced in Aurangabad, Bihar. Farmers grow a variety of veggies. Meanwhile, Aurangabad’s farmers are making lakhs from growing vegetables. For farmers, growing beans is also a lucrative food. Its cultivation may also bring in a lot of money for farmers. Beans are grown in five bighas by farmer Shankar Mehta of Kutumba block in the Aurangabad district. Bean farming brings in over three lakhs of rupees a year for farmers.
The government has several programs in place.
According to farmer Shankar Mehta, the government also runs a number of farming-related programs. The Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture also provide subsidies for farming. The Horticulture Department simultaneously supplies farmers with drip lines and seedlings for agricultural irrigation. The finest irrigation technology for high agricultural yields is drip irrigation. A drip system has been erected in the fields to ensure that the vegetables get adequate water, since irrigation is essential for a higher vegetable output.
It is grown twice a year.
According to farmer Shankar Mehta, he grows tomatoes in addition to beans. Twice a year, both crops are cultivated. This generates a respectable salary. According to the farmer, the months of October through November are ideal for growing beans. This vegetable is in great demand on the market and will be available in 60 to 70 days. Each bigha produces around 10–15 quintals of beans.
The price of beans is Rs 3200 per quintal.
According to farmer Shankar Mehta, vegetable buyers frequently travel from neighboring districts, such as Aurangabad. This is where we buy vegetables in bulk and carry them out. Beans are sold in bulk for about Rs 3200 per quintal. Approximately five bighas are growing beans at the same time. Just the beans generate three lakhs of rupees a year.
