He has spent the past four to five years growing cabbage consistently. He grows organic cabbage, which doubles his earnings.
Desi cow excrement is used as fertilizer in organic cabbage farming, and Jeev Amrit, a spray derived from cow urine, is used. As a result, the crop is free of insects and adverse effects. Cabbages are readily sold for about one lakh rupees per bigha, and consumers purchase the whole field itself rather than having to be chopped out of the field and transported to the market. It takes four to five months for the four to five bighas of cabbage that Ravi Saini plants each year to be ready.
Growing cabbage organically for five years
For the last ten to twelve years, farmer Ravi Saini has been cultivating consistently, he told the journalists. He saw other farmers cultivating organic crops. Then he began growing cabbage in his land organically. He has been growing organic cabbage for the last four or five years. He is making a lot of money as a result. About five bigha of his field, which is entirely organic, are planted with cabbage.
Organic cabbage costs twice as much.
Jeev Amrit is created from cow urine and sprayed, and only cow dung is used as fertilizer. Regarding demand, organic cabbage is twice as expensive than non-organic cabbage. Customers purchase the cabbage from the standing field itself, so they do not need to trim it and transport it to the market. It is easy to sell cabbage for between 80 and 1 lakh rupees per bigha. The farmer becomes a millionaire after four to five months of farming. In addition to eliminating chemical pesticides, everyone else who engages in this kind of organic farming will make a healthy profit.
