Gram and rye cultivation: This crop will be well prepared in just two irrigations, there will be huge profit with less hard work
Gram and rye cultivation: The Rabi season is when farmers grow wheat on a massive scale. However, farmers confront challenges as a result of fewer irrigation infrastructure. The district of Palamu has less rainfall each year. But this time, the Kharif season has brought excellent rain, which has helped the farmers’ cultivation. However, during the Rabi season, when there is less water available, farmers may still grow these crops.
In fact, over the last 10 years, the Rabi season has seen the greatest levels of wheat cultivation. But since there isn’t enough water, farmers can’t grow it. Farmers may grow rye and gram, which use less water, in such a scenario. Only two irrigations are necessary to adequately prepare these crops.
There are relatively few irrigation facilities available to farmers in the Palamu area, Dr. D.N. Singh, Chief Scientist at the Regional Research Center Chianki, told the reporters. At the same time, irrigation is crucial to any crop’s successful production. Under such circumstances, farmers ought to grow such crops. which, with less irrigation, may provide a healthy return. Under such circumstances, farmers may grow rye and gram on a huge scale during the Rabi season without using a lot of water.
For these crops, two irrigations are sufficient.
He went on to say that although wheat crops need four to five irrigations, rye and gram crops just need two irrigations, which yields a substantial harvest profit. The climate of the neighboring areas, such as Palamu district, is ideal for crops like oilseeds and pulses. As a result, this location also runs a program to promote pulse crops.
These crops also improve the soil.
According to him, growing gram also benefits the earth after it is planted. Gram cultivation improves the soil’s fertility. In comparison to wheat, gram production uses less fertilizers. In addition, farmers may use gram in three different ways by growing greens, green gram, and gram. Gram has a high protein content. it is good for your health.
Select the field.
He said that farmers may still begin growing mustard or gram if they haven’t begun farming yet because of inadequate irrigation. Farmers should choose the number two field for this, where they may produce mustard or gram.
