Crops and land for farming
According to farmer Manoj, who spoke with the media, he has been farming for 15 to 20 years and has 4 acres of land. Of that, 2 acres are used for rice and wheat cultivation, 1 acre is used for vegetables, and 1 acre is used for radish. The farmer said that his primary crop is radish. By growing many radish kinds, he is making considerable money.
Cultivation of Somani Cross X-35 Radish
After growing many radish kinds for around ten years, farmer Manoj Kumar said he has discovered that Somani Cross X-35 is the greatest variety. On one acre of land, he grows just Cross X-35 radish. According to him, planting this kind of radish doesn’t cost much and it just takes 28 days to mature. This radish is in high demand on the market and is sold out as soon as it arrives. According to the farmer, Somani X-35 has fewer disease complaints than other radish cultivars.
How do you handle marketing?
When discussing crop marketing, farmer Manoj Kumar said that we are small farmers with low yields. The farmers sell their produce at the local market by the quintal, regardless of the amount that is harvested from the fields. According to him, one acre of land yields 22 kattha, or 110 quintals, of radish. According to the farmer, a quintal of radish may get him up to Rs 2,500.
Farming technique
The farmer said that while he mostly farms organically, he also employs chemical techniques. In the fields, cowdung is utilized as fertilizer. According to the farmer, he grows radish on an acre of land twice, separated by 15 days. He said that from one acre of land, he receives the produce of two acres. The second-time radish yields a decent yield and is thicker than the first. According to the farmer, he also keeps a cow for his family.
Profit and cost
Regarding the price, farmer Manoj Kumar said that the crops determine the cost of farming. Radish cultivation on one acre of land costs around forty-five thousand rupees the first time, but it drops to 35 thousand rupees the second time. Regarding the earnings, the farmer said that growing radish brings in a sizable sum of money for him. One acre of land may easily provide a profit of 4 lakh to 4.50 lakh rupees from the radish crop.

The farmer said that weather variations are the biggest obstacle to vegetable farming. Following a rainstorm, there is a significant chance of crop damage from waterlogging. Aside from this, a major issue is the volatility of the radish market price. Sometimes the crop’s rate is fantastic, and other times it’s not even equal to the expense.
