Organic Farming Benefits: Gujarat farmer started organic farming, earning lakhs at very low cost
Organic Farming Benefits: Gujarati farmers are now making thousands of rupees via organic farming. Many farmers used to use pesticides, but many switched to natural farming after seeing problems like cancer in the village or community. After seeing a cancer patient in his area, a farmer from Gir Somnath district began organic farming, and now he makes Rs 5 lakh.
Began organic farming seven years ago
A 47-year-old farmer from Gir Somnath district’s Badiya village, Narsinhbhai Sodhbhai Hadiya, completed his tenth grade education. Ten bighas of land make up Narsingh. He used to use pesticides in his farming, and the results were the same. However, after seeing a villager who had cancer, he made the decision to switch to natural cow-based farming, which he has been doing for seven years.
With natural farming, 10 bighas of land are generating 6 lakhs at a cost of only Rs 50,000, but in the past, when farming was done with pesticides, the yield ranged from 3 to 4 lakhs and the expenses reached 1 lakh. Organic farming with cows has increased output while lowering costs.
Good prices are obtained from cow-based farming
Groundnuts, millet, and other grains are grown in Narsinhbhai. He makes considerable money from cow-based farming. He sells his vegetables when people visit his home. As a result, going to the market or public market is not necessary.
“We have three Gir cows, whose dung, cow urine, and milk are used in farming,” Narsinhbhai said in an interview with Local 18. In addition, we produce Beejmrit, Jeevamrit, and other medications for use in agriculture.
