Power supply scheme: Why all the farmers of the state are not taking advantage of this scheme, know the reason
Power supply scheme: The state’s free energy supply program for private tube wells is not being used by all farmers. The Energy Corporation has thus once again extended the deadline for scheme registration to November 15th. Although October 16 was formerly the deadline for registration, as of right moment, just 7.77 lakh of the 15.72 lakh farmers have signed up for the program. Pankaj Kumar, the managing director of Energy Corporation, has given directives to extend the registration deadline.
The Energy Corporation has made it clear that farmers would have the option of paying the unpaid payment in three or six installments in addition to extending the registration deadline. In order to pay the outstanding debt in three installments, the first installment must be submitted before December 31st after registration. Next year, the second payment must be placed by January 31 and the third installment by February 28.
Likewise, in order to settle outstanding invoices in six installments, the first installment must be placed by December 31st, the second by January 31st, the third by February 28th, the fourth by March 31st, the fifth by April 30th, and the sixth by May 31st.
Terms need to be established based on farmers’ convenience
Awadhesh Verma, president of the Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Consumer Council, expressed grave worry about farmers’ lack of enthusiasm in the program. According to him, farmers are refusing to comply with the requirements set out by the Energy Corporation in order to get the program’s advantages. The need that meters be installed and unpaid bills be paid is not being accepted by farmers. As a result, the Energy Corporation need to treat this issue seriously and adjust the circumstances to suit farmers’ needs.
