The remark made by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Pandharpur today is significant since the Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for later this year. It is argued that, only months before the elections, the administration made this declaration in an attempt to win over different sections of the populace.

The Shinde government’s offer of financial support for young people might be interpreted as a reaction to the opposition’s long-standing worries about the growing rate of youth unemployment in Maharashtra.

Advantages of the Program

When CM Shinde unveiled the plan, he said that the government will pay for young people in the state to participate in factory apprenticeships. He underlined that no government had ever before implemented a program like this, and he said it would address the issue of unemployment. The government will provide the young people a stipend and offer them prospects for factory apprenticeships under this program.

Demands of Uddhav Thackeray for Boy Welfare Programs

The topic of young people without jobs in Maharashtra was recently brought up by Uddhav Thackeray. Speaking to the media during a parliamentary session, he said that he was calling for a Maharashtra program for boys that would be comparable to Madhya Pradesh’s Ladli Behen plan. He emphasized that because boys and girls are no longer different from one another, both should gain equally from such programs.

The Shinde administration hopes to address the urgent problem of youth unemployment by introducing the Ladla Bhai Yojana and by offering financial support to enable young people to complete apprenticeships and get useful job experience. This project, which highlights the government’s attempts to assist and empower Maharashtra’s youth, is also seen as a calculated ploy to win over voters before the assembly elections.

The ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ was just announced

This is in response to the Ladli Behna Yojana, which was just declared during the Maharashtra Assembly’s monsoon session. The initiative, which Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar introduced in the assembly, is intended for married, divorced, and impoverished women in the age range of 21 to 60. Recipients would get a monthly aid of Rs 1,500. Later, on the statement of Chief Minister Shinde, the age limit was increased to 65.
